The classic development of a control unit with the associated software costs a lot of time – and, of course, a lot of money. Especially if concept errors are only discovered later and therefore hardware, software and possibly even system components have to be re-engineered at great expense.
With the PROtroniC, Schaeffler Engineering has created the revolution in the field of vehicle technology, thus significantly accelerating the development of mechatronic systems. This is because new approaches to solutions can be quickly and simply evaluated and secured using the flexibly adaptable prototyping control unit long before the series control unit is available.

Using the PROtroniC, customers work with a model-based tool chain which is also suitable for series development – from the graphics modeling and simulation and automatic code generation right through to calibration of the control algorithms and functions.

In this way, a smooth transition takes place from the prototyping phase to series development – and ideas are brought more quickly to the road.

PROtroniC LINE as Engine, Transmission & Universal Control Unit

"Engine Management Unit" (EMU) Variant

The EMU variant of the PROtroniC supports the development of common combustion engines (gasoline, diesel, gas engines) as well as of alternative drives.
