Women in Tech: Megha Panchariya on her career as an engineer

For a long time, Megha Panchariya wasn’t sure whether she wanted to pursue a career in engineering or not. But ultimately, her passion for technology tipped the scales in favor of her decision. Even as a child and teenager, she was passionate about solving complex problems with creative approaches. Megha Panchariya works at Schaeffler’s Pune site in India since 2022. As Manager in the field of Menchatronics she says: “The profession of engineer consists of the perfect combination of logical thinking, ingenuity, and making a positive contribution to society.”

For Megha, successful engineering work goes far beyond mere technical expertise. “Resilience, trust, adaptability, and leadership qualities are crucial in our profession,” she stresses. Her most important piece of advice: Especially when starting out, it’s not the level of perfection that matters but the degree of motivation. She says: “Simply get started, learn, and grow with the tasks.” In this context, one of the keys to success is to surround yourself with people who encourage and support you but also challenge you. Every day, Megha strives to be that kind of person.
